While I write for all means of the concert hall, I specialize in the areas of Vocal/Choral and Piano.
I also write for instrumental and jazz ensembles, so check out my work below!
Choral Music: Singing has always been a huge part of my life, so it's no surprise that I write a lot of vocal/choral music! Vocal solos, choral pieces, small a cappella ensembles...you name it, I love it.
"The Little Gypsy", featured in this playlist, was selected and performed by the KC VITAs Chamber Choir in Kansas City, MO as part of their 2018 Summer Series concert.
"Touch the Sky" received its world premiere from the Nixa High School Chamber Choir in the fall of 2015. View the performance here!
Piano Music: Piano is my go-to instrument. Most of my life has been at a piano. Naturally, I write for piano quite often!
"Fractured Facade" is a great example of a piece tackling complex emotions. It's an exploration of the idea that hiding behind "being okay" is not a good place to be, and that we will end up knowing ourselves better once we break that wall down.
On the other hand, "Gateway" is an exhilerating endurance run. Purely fun, this piece is meant to sound flashy and grab your attention.
Instrumental Music: Some of my all time favorite music comes from classical symphonies and ensembles. Writing for these groups is always a joy, regardless of genre!
"Suite for Copley" is a band piece that was written specifically for the Akron Symphonic Winds and their concert at Copley's Biccentennial Celebration. View the performance here!
Pieces like "Open House" and "Inspector Gadget (Cover)" show off my love for jazz! The former is written for jazz trio, while the latter is for a big band.
Accompaniments: The majority of the piano work that I have done over the past decade has been accompanying other performers, especially vocalists. This playlist is a sampling of the accompaniments that I've been asked to play for others.
